Description
This small cactus species grows in Peruvian river valleys up to an altitude of 800 metres and is threatened with extinction in its natural environment. The spherical cactus has few thorns, but those it does have are very hard. Several times a year, it forms large carmine-red flowers. A great eye-catcher with a fascinating origin.
