Sonnenerde Organic Hemp Soil, 20 l

Sonnenerde Organic Hemp Soil is made primarily from regional raw materials - organic compost, expanded clay granules, perlite, activated biochar, horn shavings and soft rock phosphate - and is free from peat and coconut fibre.

It is based on Terra Preta and is particularly suitable for urban gardening and the cultivation of medicinal plants. It can be used in pots, planters, smartpots, and greenhouses, and boasts numerous advantages:

• Reduced water consumption while ensuring optimal plant nutrition
• No additional fertilisation is necessary, and there is no risk of over- or under-fertilisation.
• Supplying the plants with all essential nutrients and trace elements throughout the entire growing season
• A rich soil life in the form of microorganisms, fungi, and small creatures supports the healthy and vigorous growth of plants and makes them naturally more resistant to diseases and pests.
• The buffering effect of hemp soil compensates for fluctuations and cultivation errors.
• The horn shavings in the soil act as a nitrogen-retaining fertiliser (they are slowly decomposed by fungi - a white fungal network is therefore normal).

Why perlite instead of wood fibre as a structural material?

The new formulation of Sonnenerde Organic Hemp Soil contains perlite instead of wood fibre as the structural component in the form of Agroperl, a high-quality and completely environmentally friendly material. The advantage perlite has over wood fibre is that it keeps the soil stable for significantly longer and also makes it considerably airier and lighter. Therefore, Sonnenerde Organic Hemp Soil can be used for a longer period without any loss of quality.
