Description
These enchanting annual summer flowers are ideal for pots, boxes and perennial beds where they delight the viewer with their gorgeous floral splendour from May to October. In addition, they are wonderful and long-lasting as cut flowers and serve as a valuable food source for numerous beneficial insects.
Our tips:
- Pre-culture from March to April, direct sowing from May to June
- Cover the cultivation container with cling film and provide air holes to protect the soil from drying out
- Remove the film every two to three days for about two hours to prevent mould formation
- Place the cultivation container in a bright and warm place at 20 to 25°C
- Keep the soil surface moist but not wet
- Plant seedlings outdoors after the last frost (Ice Saints)
- Prefer dry, humus-rich soil
- Water sufficiently
- Fertilise regularly with flowering plant fertiliser
- Pinch off the first bloom for better branching and beautiful flowering
- Very sensitive to frost
- Potted plants can overwinter in frost-free, cool, bright locations (do not let the root ball dry out completely)
