Saflax Bonsai - White Mulberry

This cold house bonsai bears beautiful white buds in May and June, as well as fruits that can take on a pretty reddish hue in strong sunlight. The fruits of the White Mulberry are sugar-sweet in taste and often grow in abundance even on young trees.

• The White Mulberry is originally native to Manchuria, China.

Our Tips:

• Cover the cultivation containers with film and provide them with holes so that the soil does not dry out
• Remove the film every two to three days for two hours to prevent mould formation
• Keep the potting soil moist but not wet
• Ideal germination temperature: 20 to 25°C
• Loves a sunny, warm, but wind-protected location
• Always allow the soil to dry out slightly before watering
• Fertilisation with special bonsai fertiliser is recommended every two weeks from April to early autumn
• Suitable for all sizes and styles
• Prune thick branches in spring and autumn, prune young shoots back to two leaves in summer
• Wiring should take place in June - remove the wire after half a year to prevent it from growing into the bark
• Repot every two years at the beginning of April and perform a light root pruning
• Overwinter in a protected, cool location without excessive freezing temperatures
