Description
The Australian Tea Tree is an evergreen with slender green leaves all year round, which are traditionally used for the extraction of tea tree essential oil. Incidentally, the name "tea tree" has an interesting story behind it - it dates back to 1770, when Captain Cook, during an expedition to Australia, enjoyed a spicy tea made from the leaves.
Tips for cultivation:
- Cultivation indoors is possible all year round
- Scatter the seeds onto moist potting substrate
- Cover the seeds only slightly with soil
- Cover with cling film and poke holes in it
- Remove the film for 2 hours every two to three days
- Keep the soil moist but not wet
- Germinates after four to six weeks
