Description
Wild garlic grows in sparse woodlands and is easy to cultivate in gardens where it is spread by ants. The leaves and bulbs are not only delicious and aromatic but also beneficial to health. It owes its name (ursinus - Latin for bear) refers to the observation that bears like to seek out the bulbs after hibernation. The leaves are delicious in salads or pesto, while the bulbs can be used like garlic. Wild garlic has an antibacterial effect and supports health.
