Description
Hollyhocks are magnificent flagship plants for cottage gardens and add a romantic touch. Chater's Double Pink flowers profusely, stands on firm, tight stems and is resistant to rust disease. The tall plants look great as a background in flower beds, between perennials, along fences, walls and in country gardens.
The densely double, large flowers in a delicate pink colour are a gardener's delight and bloom from July to September. Hollyhocks have a beautiful long-distance effect and are also ideal as cut flowers for tall vases.
Tips:
- Direct outdoor sowing from May
- Transplant from late summer
- Prefers wind-protected locations next to walls and house walls
- Remove older leaves regularly
- Cut for the vase when 3 to 5 flowers have opened; remove leaves and dip stems briefly in hot water
- Leave a few spikes on the plant for self-seeding
