Description

Sweeter than sugar and almost completely calorie-free, candyleaf is an exciting alternative to conventional sweeteners. The plant can easily be cultivated on the windowsill and is suitable for sweetening drinks and food.

Our tips:

  • Germination temperature: 20°C
  • Cultivate individually in pots or outdoors at a distance of 25cm
  • Always keep the soil moist, but avoid waterlogging
  • Requires a deep, humus-rich, loose soil
  • Medium fertiliser requirement
  • Pick out so that the plant has more leaves and becomes bushier
  • Dry, grind, cut or scald leaves after harvesting
  • Ideal for diabetics as stevioside does not increase blood sugar levels
