This sharpening steel is made of magnetised Sheffield steel. While sharpening, the filings remain stuck on the steel where they can be wiped off with a cloth. They do not remain on the blade where they may rust.
The convenient 19 cm length is ideal for giving hedge or lawn shears the necessary sharpness.
