Our Tips:

• Soil Prep: Use low-nutrient soil for sowing - avoid fertilising immediately before planting.
• Sow into weed-free beds with a fine, crumbly tilth.
• Sowing Depth: Twice the thickness of the seed.
• Press the seeds down firmly after sowing and water gently. Use a fine spray to avoid capping the soil (creating a hard crust).
• Keep the plants well-watered until they are established.
• Encourage Growth: For bushier plants and more blooms, "deadhead" spent flowers and cut your flowers regularly.
• Self-Sowing: If you allow the seeds to ripen in the autumn, these flowers may self-seed and return the following year.
• Harvesting: For the longest vase life, cut flowers early in the morning with a sharp knife.
• Harvest when the blooms are just beginning to open rather than fully expanded.
• Remove lower leaves so that only the bare stems sit in the water.
• Place in a clean vase and change the water every two to three days.
