Description

This classic leaf beet is a tall, robust, and high-yielding variety, producing broad, silvery-white ribs paired with deep green foliage. It is exceptionally bolt-resistant and is well-suited for overwintering in protected cultivation, such as a greenhouse or cold frame.

Our Tips:

  • Low Maintenance: A hardy and undemanding staple of the traditional cottage garden.
  • Sowing Rate: 200 g per 100 m²; for "Cut and Come Again" leaf chard: 30–40 seeds per linear metre (100–200 g per 100 m²).
  • Sowing & Planting: Start seeds indoors: from March for planting out from mid-April.
  • Germination temperature: 18 to 20°C.
  • Harvesting is possible throughout the year.
  • Temperature Warning: While the plant is hardy, exposure to consistently low temperatures in early spring can trigger premature bolting.
  • Row spacing: 40 cm.
