Description
The yardlong bean "Metro", also known as the asparagus bean or snake bean, grows up to one meter long in its Asian homeland. In our regions, however, the beans also reach an incredible 40-60 cm. They are prepared just like regular beans and are a highlight on any plate, both visually and culinarily. Delicious as a salad or combined with bacon to accompany steaks.
Sowing tips: Yardlong beans like it nice and warm, so cultivation in a greenhouse or sowing in a warm spot in the garden is ideal. They should be harvested at a length of 40-60 cm so that they remain nice and tender.
